Hello friends!
In this post we will share with you the
part that mostly fascinated us from our tour in Galicia: the
municipalities of Barreiros and Ribadeo, the north-eastern border
with the region of Asturias.
The biggest attraction of these places
is, without doubt, the Praia das Catedrais, a beach in the Cantabrian
Sea where nature offers a truly unique spectacle: a series of rock
formations, arches and caves that create a never seen before
landscape. The majesty of these formations, remember really, as the
name suggests, the perfection of the arches of the most impressive
cathedrals and they seem built by the human hand. The best time to
admire this spectacle is at low tide where you can physically cross
the beach and with at the high tide when it seems to have discovered
Atlantis, with the "cathedrals" under water. Immediately
this place created a lot of positive feelings in us, making us rise
the desire to make a photo shoot with a professional photographer,
whose photos will be shared in the blog in September because we have
carelessly forgot the dvd with the photos in Milan.
During our holiday in this area we
stayed in one of the best hotels based on our experience: Casa do Merlo, located about 2.6 km from Praia das Catedrais, reached in
about twenty minutes by walking on specially designed trails near the
beach that allow you to immediately enjoy all the beauty of the
place. This small hotel with ten rooms, family run, offers a
welcoming atmosphere and makes you feel instantly at home, albeit
very important aspect that is often ignored by many hotels,
especially by the larger ones.
The property is housed in a 18th
century farm with a decor reminiscent of American colonial houses
(like a Ralph Lauren shop). Xavi, the hotel manager, after working
for years in the pharmaceutical industry, seven years ago decided to
create Casa do Merlo and despite not having experience in tourism has
created a really successful story, having fantastic reviews on the
internet, showing that hospitality before being a job, is a human
issue. Within the structure of the hotel, there is a small restaurant
where you can enjoy traditional Galician food cooked with passion by
Xavi's partner. For wine lovers, there is a fairly complete list,
which keeps at the first place the wine As sortes, several times
awarded as one of the world's best whites. Finally, do not forget to
ask him to offer you the herbal grappa of the house: really cool!
Kisses to all of you,
Dimitri & Jola

Molto bello!
Fantastike!! Faleminderit per sugjerimet. Personalisht do te vleresoja edhe ndonje info ne lidhje me transportin, te tipit linjen ajrore me ekonomike qe operon nga Italia (Milano/ Roma) apo edhe aeroportin me te afer me Galicia.
Faleminderit paraprakisht
Albana
Faleminderit shume Albana per fjalet e bukura! Atehere, ne udhetuam me Ryanair nga Milano per ne Santiago de Compostela (maksimumi 100€ per person vajtje ardhje, por varet nga sa perpara e prenoton sepse mund te gjesh dhe oferta shume me te lira). Aty pastaj morem nje makine me qera dhe levizem beme tour-in e rajonit te Galicias, pame disa qytete, ishuj, fshatra :-D Ishte vertet eksperience unike. Nese ke nevoje per ndonje info tjeter na thuaj. Ka edhe aereoporte te tjera po me sa u informuam ne, nuk kane fluturime direkte nga Milano dhe Santiago de Compostela ishte pika me strategjike. Perndryshe, nese fluturon per ne Barcelone, pastaj mund te marresh fluturime te tjera per ne Vigo ose Oviedo, jane diku tek 100€ vajtje ardhje nga Barcelona por jane pika me pak strategjike per tu spostuar.
